The children were not the lone benefactors of this event. Community resources ranging from finances to maintaining a healthy lifestyle were available to the entire family.
FVFL, whose focus is the single parent household, is well aware of the stress that accompany these households as they prepare their child or children for that infamous “first day of school.” There is clothing and school supplies to be purchased as well as the uncertainty of getting the family in a routine for the academic year. This event alleviates some of the financial strain so the parent can concentrate on their families other daily life activities.
