FVFL had a busy first half of 2015. In full force with its theme of “Inspiring Women to Rise,” we began the year in January with our Jump Start To The New You Post Holiday Tea and we finished our series of workshops in May with our famous Mother/Daughter Tea. Jump Start weekly workshops will resume this Fall.
Our Jump Start program offers workshops, mentorship, and resources to assist single moms on the East Side of St. Paul. For these moms, many of whom are experiencing hardships, setbacks and crisis, our program is a tool for transforming their lives. FVFL has identified four critical pillars that will lead to success: Spiritual Empowerment, Financial Stability, Mental Alertness and Physical Fitness.
Workshops are presented by certified professionals that possess not only educational expertise but often have experienced some of the same difficulties as the participants.
Jump Start is celebrating its third year and is continually growing. Program Coordinator Lois Steward says, “Although each woman is at a different place in her own personal journey, all of our participants have found the Jump Start program to be a beacon of light.”
One recent participant of the program said, “Jump Start is very inspiring and the speakers are always helpful. They give me insight to things I have not thought about. I really enjoy learning new ways to manage my life as a single mom for the better.”
Jump Start targets low-income, single head of household women with children. However, we welcome all women who would benefit from this program. For more information please contact Lois Steward at: 651-774-6664 or via email: firstname.lastname@example.org
